About MSSL-TB

Here at Music Students' Service League - Torrance Branch, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2018, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Volunteer Organization upon: support, empowerment and progress.

 

Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Music Students' Service League - Torrance Branch emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.

Our Mission

​

The Music Students' Service League - Torrance Branch (MSSL-TB), sponsored by the Music Teachers’ Association of California - Torrance Branch (MTAC-TB) is a community service outreach program for music students studying with a teacher of the MTAC Torrance Branch.

 

These student members of MSSL-TB are enabled to integrate music community service activities with their music studies. Involvement in the organization provides opportunities to understand the responsibilities of membership, to recognize how volunteerism benefits our community and to become more experienced as a performing musician.  

 

Students also share their gift of music with the community by participating in recitals at venues such as senior citizens’ homes, hospitals and churches, by volunteering at the MTAC Torrance Branch events, and by engaging in other music-related volunteer activities.
